Links marked Ad

Some pages on HouseFile link to companies that carry out landlord certificates, such as gas safety checks. When one of those links is marked Ad, the company may pay us a commission if you book through it.

The label sits next to every link of this kind, on the page and in our emails.

What a commission never changes

Our guides are written from the law and the official guidance. What they say a landlord has to do is the same whether or not a page carries a booking link, and we don’t rank providers.

Links without the label

Where we have no partner for a certificate, the same box links to an official source, such as the Gas Safe Register or GOV.UK’s list of energy assessors. Those links earn us nothing.

Counting clicks

When you follow a booking link, we count the click, with the company or source and where on our site the link was. The record holds no IP address, no cookie and nothing that identifies you.

Once you reach the company’s site, it and its affiliate network may use their own cookies to credit the booking to us. Their privacy policies cover that.

Who we work with

At the moment no link on HouseFile earns a commission.

Questions about any of this go to support@housefile.app.
