- Two-part HMO fee (from 1 April 2026 fee policy, v8; same table for mandatory and additional HMO licences, up to 9 bedrooms): standard (non-accredited) £1,607 (Part A £697 + Part B £910); accredited (Nottingham Rental Standard - Unipol/DASH/ANUK) £1,210 (Part A £697 + Part B £513); less-compliant £2,180 (Part A £697 + Part B £1,483). Extra £29 per bedroom for HMOs with 10+ bedrooms. ANUK-code buildings with 15+ student occupants exempt from the additional scheme.

- All HMOs city-wide not caught by mandatory (national) licensing - in practice HMOs occupied by 3 or 4 persons in 2+ households meeting the s.254 tests. Exemptions: mandatory-licensable HMOs, s.257 converted blocks of flats, buildings under ANUK-administered approved codes of practice (student accommodation), Annex B non-HMO buildings, management orders and temporary exemptions.
