London Borough of Wandsworth Designation 1 for Areas for Selective Licensing 2025
- Status
- In force
- Runs
- 1 July 2025 to 30 June 2030
- Fee
- £885 per property: £529 when you apply and £356 when the licence is granted. Discounts come off the second part: £104 for an EPC of B or above or £52 for an EPC of C, £104 for accredited landlords (LLAS, NRLA, UKALA, ARLA, RICS or Safeagent), £104 for homes let to social housing tenants, and £142 (40%) for landlords who meet the council's Gold Standard Charter. Apply at the same time for several homes you own and manage in the same block or building and you can get £104 off the first part. You lose the discounts if the council has had to ask twice for documents or has sent you a warning letter for not licensing the property.
- Applies to
- Privately rented homes in Furzedown, South Balham, Tooting Bec and Tooting Broadway wards let to one household or to two unrelated sharers. In a converted block of flats in these wards, each flat needs its own selective licence unless it is exempt. Exempt: HMOs that need a mandatory or additional licence, social landlord lets, homes under a management order or with a temporary exemption, and the kinds of letting exempt nationally.

This checker reflects HouseFile’s records of council licensing designations, not the councils’ live registers. Our records indicate the position at the verification date shown on each result. Schemes are designated, renewed and revoked throughout the year, and postcode-level lookups are approximate near scheme boundaries. Always confirm with the council before letting or buying a property, using the source link on each card. This is general information, not legal advice.
